Jon Boone first began covering Afghanistan in October 2007 while working for the Financial Times. Before this he had worked as its education correspondent in London and its Wall Street reporter in New York. Before joining the Financial Times he worked for The Friday Times in Lahore and helped launch its sister paper, The Daily Times, in 2002. He has also written for the Irish Times and Monocle.
