Mexico City

Everything is intense in Mexico City: the chaos, the spicy food, the infuriating traffic and the endless fiestas. Essentials

01

Mexico City is notorious for its traffic; try not to travel during peak hours (08:00-10:00 and 14:00-15:00) and allow plenty of time to get from the north to the south.

02 With such traffic, it's no surprise that tardiness is the national norm.
03 If you're planning to cover lots of ground in a single day, call a car service. Taxis get expensive quickly.
04 As robberies are a worry, don't wear flashy jewellery or accessories.
05 Lunch begins at 14:00 or later and often lasts beyond 17:00.
