Monocle is a premium global media brand with magazine, online, broadcast, retail and café divisions. We are now recruiting for an Advertising executive for our London office.

The Advertising executive is responsible for developing and maintaining good relationships with key advertising decision-makers and will generate advertising and advertorial revenue from assigned clients and media agencies by selling across all platforms: print, digital (monocle.com) and radio (Monocle 24).

The role will sit within the global sales team and the Advertising executive will display a strong level of international business acumen, with experience in working and/or living abroad.

Responsibilities

· Sell advertising across all platforms, including print, digital, radio and event-based programmes, to drive revenue growth
· Work with the editorial and creative team to deliver compelling creative or integrated solutions for clients while maximising sales efforts
· Manage and nurture existing client relationships and foster new relationships
· Manage all aspects of the sales communication and negotiation process

Requirements

· Undergraduate degree (2:1 or above)
· At least two years of print, digital and/or radio sales experience in a global or pan-regional environment
· Creative, compelling and persuasive presentation and negotiation skills
· Strategic, consultative selling experience with proven ability to navigate large and complex deals
· Strong creative thinking and interpersonal/communication skills
· Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and can flourish even under tremendous pressure
· A high level of confidence and the ability to work independently and proactively
· The right to live and work in the UK
· English fluency essential; other languages an advantage

We’re looking for an Account Director with the experience, knowledge base and confidence to educate and inspire new and existing clients.

The ideal candidate will be passionate and knowledgeable about the media/magazine industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining relationships, building new client relationships and selling across multi-channel platforms (print, digital, audio, events and content).

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Manage existing client and agency relationships for both print, digital, audio and events.
  • Generate new business through both the existing and new client base.
  • Pitch the entire Monocle portfolio to clients and agencies.
  • Report regularly to the Sales Director on strategy and plans to drive revenue.
  • Discuss, present and recommend Monocle products and make appropriate recommendations to clients based on their needs.

Requirements

  • At least three years experience of selling print and digital advertising and/or bespoke solutions.
  • An excellent understanding of the advertising landscape, especially by sector.
  • Strong relationships with media agencies and relevant key clients.
  • A proven track record of successfully selling custom solutions and integrated programmes.
  • Excellent analytical, creative and presentation skills.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • The right to live and work in the UK.
  • English fluency essential, other languages an advantage.
  • Must be a team player.

The account manager is responsible for developing and maintaining good relationships with key advertising decision-makers. The role will sit within the global sales team. The ideal candidate will display a strong level of international business acumen and have a minimum of two years’ media-sales experience at a premium title or website.
