Hot on the heels of the successful winter launch of our first quarterly women’s title Konfekt last year, 2021 will be a year of continued growth and investment in Monocle. We are seeking an advertising manager for the luxury and fashion sectors to join an agile global commercial team. Based in our Zürich HQ in Seefeld, the right candidate will deliver on significantly growing Monocle’s commercial presence in key markets including France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage existing global advertising clients in the fashion and luxury sector across Monocle and Konfekt brands.
  • Proactively identify and meet new clients to expand the fashion and luxury business across print, digital, podcast and bespoke publishing in order to meet and exceed revenue targets and KPIs.
  • To meet and exceed established revenue targets.
  • Represent the Monocle and Konfekt brand internationally.
  • Spot market opportunities and develop new solutions to meet and exceed client needs and demand.
  • Work closely with colleagues in other departments to assimilate company-wide knowledge, experience and ideas to translate into best practice and knowledge sharing.

Essential Skills & Requirements

  • Demonstrable international advertising sales success in the fashion and luxury sector.
  • Established credibility and strong network of contacts among international client and media agency databases.
  • Deep passion for and knowledge of the fashion and luxury sector.
  • Thorough understanding of the global media landscape and the Monocle brand.
  • Aptitude for strategic, entrepreneurial thinking.
  • Multi-platform experience: proven expertise and aptitude in delivering commercial projects across platforms print (including bespoke content), podcast, film and digital.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and commercial acumen.
  • High proficiency in presentation: from proposal and pitch stage to face-to-face.
  • Being a French, German and/or Italian speaker is a significant advantage.
  • Minimum five years of media and/or creative solutions sales in a premium pan-regional/global media environment.
