The smoothest way to travel

Thai Airways has been bringing travellers closer to the real Thailand for half a century: Closer to the bustle of Bangkok, closer to Phuket’s pristine beaches, and closer to the experiences that make travel more meaningful.

1.
Uninterrupted journeys
Convenience and comfort

Nothing beats having more time in Thailand. Thai Airways flies non-stop to Bangkok from London, Frankfurt, Munich, Zürich, Copenhagen, Paris and Stockholm, avoiding costly layovers and time-wasting connections.

Choice departure and arrival times elevate these uninterrupted journeys: European travellers can enjoy convenient afternoon take-off times and arrive in Bangkok early, refreshed and ready for a full day in the capital or a handy connection beyond. This one-stop comfort comes with the usual high standards that you would expect from Thailand’s national carrier. Thai Airways welcomed the latest fuel-efficient Boeing 777-300ERS planes to its fleet this year and reintroduced first-class cabins, providing greener travel for all and a golden experience for those planning a trip of a lifetime.

2.
Expanding horizons
50 years of cultured travel

Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport offers an unrivalled blend of business and leisure travel as the main hub for Thai Airways and regional carrier Thai Smile Airways. Together these sister airlines shuttle holidaymakers around southeast Asia and provide seamless links with other major business capitals.

Members of the free-to-join loyalty programme, Royal Orchid Plus, earn air miles on every flight with Thai Airways as well as the other 25 airlines in the Star Alliance; frequent flyers also enjoy a range of priority services and lounge access. Meanwhile, the tour company arm of Thai Airways, Royal Orchid Holidays, draws on the airline’s regional knowledge and reputation for first-class hospitality to design personalised itineraries that combine tours of golden temples and beautiful beaches with eye-opening music festivals and under-explored cities.

Thai Airways has been the European gateway to southeast Asia for 50 years. Through Royal Orchid Holidays, it is opening up the wonders of the region to a new generation of travellers, from Siem Reap to Luang Prabang.

3.
Friendly faces
A warm Thai welcome

Sawasdee-ka! There is nothing like the warmth of a Thai welcome, whether that greeting arrives in a hotel lobby in Krabi or as you step onboard a Thai Airways aircraft bound for Bangkok.

Wearing silk uniforms and beaming smiles, cabin crew at Thailand’s national flag carrier are renowned for their award-winning service in flight and on the ground, which is routinely recognised as among the top five for airline hospitality around the world.

4.
National pride
Awaken the senses

Food is a memorable part of any journey to Thailand, from the spicy salads to the creamy coconut curries and bowls of mango sticky rice. Thai Airways serves a taste of Thailand’s fresh produce on every long-haul flight and the latest menus have been created by one of the kingdom’s most creative chefs. Taste is one of the six senses (yes, six) that passengers can experience when they fly Thai Airways.

The aroma of Black Silk blend coffee (see right) and the sound of mood music creates a café-in-the-clouds with onboard wi-fi so that passengers can always stay connected.

An inspiring selection of films is just one of the visual treats available on board. Sawasdee Travel Inspiration Portal is a new online magazine curated by Thai Airways that provides insight into the best that the kingdom has to offer, from must-book tables in Bangkok to paddle-boarding experiences in Phuket.

Hearing, vision, taste, smell, touch; the extra ingredient is heart. After all, a magical journey with Thai Airways is an art, not a science.

5.
People and planet
A positive footprint

Every visit to Thailand should begin with a relaxing journey and come with the added comfort that a rewarding travel experience can deliver positive outcomes on the ground. Non-stop flights that lower carbon emissions and amenity bags made from recycled plastic are just some of the ways that Thai Airways protects the planet and delivers even greater peace of mind.

Thai Airways prides itself on bringing touches of Thailand to every flight thanks to its elevated onboard service. Even the coffee and chocolates will transport passengers from their seats to Thailand’s east coast; there, in Baan Klong Loy Prachuap Khiri Khan, lives KanVela, a craft chocolatier and social enterprise whose award-winning bars are made with locally grown cacao. This young Thai brand is spreading its wings internationally with the help of Thai Airways. The airline also serves a special blend of coffee, Black Silk, which is developed in partnership with Doi Tung. This venerable brand of Thai coffee grew out of a landmark charitable foundation that has transformed the livelihoods of farming communities in Chiang Rai through the cultivation of coffee and other legitimate cash crops. A sip of Black Silk coffee with a square of KanVela chocolate brings premium passengers closer to Thailand – and leaves a positive footprint behind.

The world’s largest airline alliance turns 25 this year. As one of the five founding airlines, Thai Airways has been in the cockpit since the very beginning and today there are 26 members in the global network.
