The nature of good hospitality

Patina Maldives is an exceptional new property created with respect for nature at the heart of its design by Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan. Located a 45-minute boat ride from the capital Malé, Patina’s secluded beach and water villas are complemented by vibrant social spaces with world-class art, live music and wellbeing programmes.

Relax in aesthetic surrounds

Architecture designed to suit the landscape

To create an atmosphere that fosters deep connections with nature and between people, Patina commissioned award-winning architect Marcio Kogan of Studio mk27 to lead the resort’s design. The result is buildings with low-lying, delicate forms that merge indoor and outdoor spaces and enhance the Maldives’ endless horizon. Here you’ll find art installations by the likes of revered Californian artist James Turrell, a bespoke library compiled by UK book expert Philip Blackwell and works of art in every villa.

Dine in harmony

Sophisticated menus that honour nature

Patina’s food and drink offering is underpinned by a commitment to the island’s environmental wellbeing. Starting with the resort’s signature restaurant Roots – whose chefs serve elegant and, most importantly, delicious plant-based fare – the emphasis is on local ingredients and seasonal flavours. It’s a philosophy shared by the resort’s 11 other restaurants, including Kōen, which fuses Japanese and Nordic cuisines, smoky South American grill Brasa and high-energy Asian joint Wok Society.

Flow in a natural state

Immerse yourself in holistic wellbeing

It’s no secret that access to nature is linked to feeling happy and healthy – and that’s why the interplay between Patina’s natural environs, harmonious architecture and wellbeing programme is so powerful.

Called Flow, the programme starts with a personal consultation for every guest on arrival. This covers everything from sleep patterns and posture to nutrition and habits, and is used to craft a bespoke movement and nutrition plan for the stay. As well as benefiting from the unhurried attention of expert consultants, guests are nurtured by the tranquility of the space itself, which is framed by glass walls that bring in the beauty of the surroundings. Feeling calm, balanced and energised is a natural outcome.
