vivo Monocle
Natural choice
Technology should enhance our enjoyment of the real world, not take us away from it. That’s the philosophy of vivo’s new operating system: OriginOS.
Fresh start
Most actions can be controlled from the OriginOS homescreen: this means no more endless tapping or unnecessary scrolling. “Nano Kits” consolidate multiple apps into one, while “Nano Alerts” display need-to-know information, such as departing flight updates, at a glance, at just the right time.

Go off the grid
OriginOS’s distinctive “Klotski Grid” design is based on a traditional Chinese sliding-block puzzle – with a creative twist. The digital pieces are flexible and highly customisable. Nano Kits can move around freely, change shape and form new combinations.
Tactile approach
Animations bring apps to life on OriginOS, which adds a new dimension to the digital experience with its “Timeline Design”. The introduction of innovative haptics technology uses motion, pressure and vibrations to stimulate the sense of touch.

In perfect harmony
Imagine a flower blooming based on your daily step count. OriginOS encourages a healthy lifestyle through an array of dynamic homescreen features and intelligent wallpapers, or “Original Vista”.
Origin story
vivo
Progress should mean more leisure time and smartphones should support us in achieving this goal. Instead, these devices risk becoming time-consuming distractions. OriginOS is a fresh starting point and a radical departure from what has come before it. vivo’s design studio, Origin Studio, has engineered a new operating system, based on the Android platform, to encourage a healthy balance between online activities and offline experiences. Its convenient homescreen, customisable components and tactile new functions connect users with their surroundings, while bringing a new sensory dimension to the flatscreen experience. Creating harmony between the physical and the digital is a guiding principle at vivo, which has a network of nine R&D centres, in Shenzhen, Dongguan, Nanjing, Beijing, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Taipei, Tokyo and San Diego. These centres develop consumer technologies, such as 5G, artificial intelligence, industrial design, photography and more. Tap in to a new digital world.
