Design Miami 2016
00:00 / 00:00
In a design calendar saturated with stuffy halls and sad sandwiches, Design Miami – an offshoot of the Art Basel fair held in Miami each December – is a sunny and salubrious affair. Monocle’s New York deputy bureau chief Megan Billings reports from the show. Plus: a round-up of the best of this season’s design magazines with journalist Katie Treggiden.
13 December 2016
Design Miami is a special event, with about 40,000 private collectors and privileged onlookers vying for one-off pieces and more than 30 galleries displaying their wares from a rather pretty perch in Miami beach. Rodman Primack, chief creative officer of Design Miami, tells us about the fair and his role in putting it together.
Few people have their finger on the pulse of design quite as firmly as Katie Treggiden, a design journalist and editor of the biannual publication 'Fiera'. She joins Monocle’s Josh Fehnert in the studio for a round-up of some of the best like-minded magazines on the shelves right now.
