Amsterdam art heist
One of the most famous art heists in modern history was finally laid to rest this week after two priceless Van Gogh paintings were returned to display at the museum from where they were stolen 15 years ago. Their unveiling is all the more remarkable because it coincides with the release of a Dutch documentary where the thief at the heart of the story finally confesses to the crime for which he has served time. Monocle’s Venetia Rainey reports.
