Far-right candidate Le Pen is running neck and neck with Macron, her main rival. She says she will strengthen France’s borders and put a stop to what she calls runaway immigration. She is anti-Europe and has been accused of misusing EU funds; together with the issue of her party being lent money by Moscow, this has cast a dark shadow over her candidacy.
