Is your living-room in need of cheer? These rounded vases will bring some Californian sunshine to your sideboards, bookshelves or dining-room table. Choose from the Bud, a chic teardrop-shaped design first created by Heath in the1980s, or the Bulb, a striking, swollen form resembling the Bud after one too many Christmas puddings.
Teixidors
$525
Teixidors uses handlooms to craft wonderfully imperfect textiles from the finest wool, silk, linen and yak fibre. The Barcelona co-operative has a social mission: to improve the lives of those with learning difficulties. MONOCLE's sister title *Konfekt* has collaborated with it on a sumptuous reversible throw, woven from traceable merino wool, with striking dark-copper accents.

Established in 1705, Shoyeido produces the highest-quality natural incense and is the preferred choice for most temples in Japan. Their newest scent, Nanshu, emits a deep and warm fragrance that features notes of sacred tree, sandalwood and chai spice. The refill contains 20 incense sticks, each of which burns for about 20 minutes.

When it comes to towels, few can compete with Kontex. Theirs are washed at a dye house in Saijo City, Japan, using water from the melted and incredibly pure snow on the nearby Mount Ishizuchi. The result? Cloud-like cloth.

These handsome gewgaws are made by a Hong Kong workshop that has been honing its craft since the 1980s. Based in the industrial district of San Po Kong on Kowloon, it is one of the last remaining brass factories in the city. The workshop has created an exclusive brass range for MONOCLE, which includes a trio of keyrings (featuring a flower, triangle or square cut-out) and a bottle opener. All have a pleasant heft and will develop a lovely patina over time.
