editorial vacancies

We are looking for a skilled and self-motivated editor to join our London team and take on the role of editing and commissioning the Business pages in the magazine, plus related coverage.

The ideal candidate will be as comfortable talking to top CEOs as to entrepreneurs. The role also involves commissioning supplements, contributing to our daily email newsletter and conducting interviews for our twice-weekly radio show The Entrepreneurs on Monocle 24. An interest in radio and relevant experience would be an advantage, as would languages – particularly French, German and Italian.

Monocle is expanding the team and wants someone who can wrangle big interviews and help nudge good copy towards excellence, as well as having great contacts and a worldview that is not bound to London opinions and politics. This hands-on role will include plenty of assignments and travel.

You should have five years’ relevant experience, most likely on a national newspaper or magazine.

To apply for this position, please send a CV and covering letter to Monocle’s managing editor Tom Reynolds.

We are looking for a bureau chief to run our outpost in Culver City, working across our print, radio and online output. You will have several years' experience as a journalist, an understanding of the Monocle brand and a good knowledge of the region. You will also be as comfortable interviewing a PM as writing about restaurants and media. Spanish language skills are a distinct advantage, as is broadcast experience.

The role is based in Los Angeles but you will need to travel throughout North and South America, and the work will not follow regular hours. This is a job for somebody who has great contacts and fresh ideas, and wants to be part of a fast-growing company. It is a role that is as demanding as it is rewarding.
