Inside The Upper House X Monocle suite in Hong Kong
Headed to Hong Kong? Well, Monocle’s Concierge has cast a knowing eye over one of the suites at the city’s best bolthole.
Newly installed general manager of The Upper House, Simon McHendry, starts his stewardship with the launch of the The Upper House x Monocle suite and Monocle pop-up café and shop, open for a limited time till November. The André Fu-designed suite boasts sweeping views of Hong Kong but now with a reimagined lounge-like space dressed with all our favourite products.

The Monocle Suite is a welcoming, design-led space furnished with original art and handpicked objects chosen by the Monocle team. It’s a setting created for both ease and inspiration, where you can leaf through the full range of Monocle magazines or tune in to Monocle Radio for insights on the people, ideas and trends shaping the future.
During your visit – or if you’re just passing through – explore Monocle’s world beyond the suite as we take over level six of The House. Take a seat at our pop-up café or grab a flat white to go. Alongside our signature brews supplied by Nodi coffee, you can browse a curated collection of Monocle’s latest magazines, books and exclusive retail offerings, from stationery to smart travel gear.

Monocle subscribers can enjoy an exclusive offer on the Monocle Suite, starting from HK$8,800 per night and including daily breakfast for two at Salisterra, plus a complimentary Maxi Bar. To book, email reservations@upperhouse.com using promo code “MonocleAtTheHouse”. Rate is subject to 10 per cent service charge and 3 per cent tax.
