We go for a classic do at a Zürich barber who’s a cut above the rest.

There are few things as enjoyable as a swift trim. Whenever our editors are in Geneva, they make a beeline for Coiffure Gaetano on Place des Eaux-Vives. Our favourite barber there is Fabio Palermo (pictured). He has had scissors in his hand since he was 10 years old. His advice? “You have to work hard to do your job well,” he tells Monocle. “If you love your job, you’ll always do it well.”
