Lounge lover
When we’re in the Japanese capital, there’s one bar we always return to – the 1970s timewarp and unbeatable cocktails of the Brillant Bar at the Keio Plaza. Where better to showcase a few new pieces from our favourite retailers, accessorised with a round of whisky highballs?
Some things are better left alone and the Brillant Bar in the Keio Plaza Hotel is one of them. Located in Tokyo’s Shinjuku district and built in 1971, the Keio Plaza is one of the city’s biggest hotels with nearly 1,500 guest rooms and two dozen bars, lounges and restaurants. The Brillant is the hotel’s main drinking venue, with proper, jacketed service that grown-ups will appreciate. Settle into an armchair and order a Whisky Highball, the whisky and soda cocktail that’s currently having its own revival in Tokyo.
