All-season work trousers

Part of our continental collection, these Portuguese-made cotton-twill trousers are exclusive to Monocle. Featuring two fatigue-pant patch pockets, as well as one welt pocket on the back, the semi-elasticated waistband is paired with a drawcord for easy adjustment. Finished with corozo buttons.

Scent Five: Syros

Our fifth fragrance collaboration with Comme des Garçons Parfums has landed: Scent Five: Syros. Inspired by the sun-scorched hills and herbaceous air of the eastern Med, it’s a crisp summer escape in a bottle – think wild thyme, rosemary, turmeric and golden immortelle, grounded in vetiver and patchouli. Crafted in Paris by perfumer Antoine Maisondieu, designed by Monocle’s in-house team and housed in a clean glass bottle with a bold blue box that nods to Cycladic minimalism.

Please note: We’re currently unable to ship fragrances to a small number of countries, including Germany. Please refer to our FAQs for more details.

Museum side table

This Museum sidetable was designed by the Stockholm-based TAF Studio for Sweden’s Nationalmuseum as part of its reopening in 2018. Put into production by String Furniture, this height-adjustable tabletop is made of fine textured and coated aluminium and steel. Available in olive exclusively for Monocle.

Sweden-based String Furniture is known for its elegant practicality. Fielding designs such as the String bookshelf, created by Kajsa and Nisse Strinning in 1949, the brand has long had Monocle’s seal of approval – String Furniture pieces appear in our London café and shop.

Soleil Zeste scent set

Crafted by perfumer Daphné Bugey, this eau de cologne set is the result of an exclusive collaboration between Portuguese beauty house Claus Porto and Monocle. It is available only to our customers, with packaging designed by our in-house art team. Unwrap for notes of bergamot, lemon and the rich tang of lime with green notes of galbanum and undertones of petitgrain. With a base of white musk, the fragrance has a refreshing essence of cypress and lavender. Plus, the bottle was made by Vista Alegre, an Aveiro-based heritage manufacturer of porcelain and crystal.

The first fragrance house on the Iberian peninsula and one of the world’s oldest beauty houses, Claus Porto is renowned for its soaps, perfumes and eau de colognes. Every product is made in Portugal and the range features items hand-wrapped in illustrated, art deco-inspired paper sealed with wax.

Otto Sepp hat

Handmade in Austria from wool felt by heritage millinery brand Mühlbauer, this narrow-brimmed traveller hat is as easy to fold away and care for as a beanie. Peek inside the hat to find a Monocle-exclusive ribbon in brown, white and anthracite, completing its vintage look.

Established more than a century ago in the quiet Viennese suburb of Floridsdorf, Mühlbauer has become one of the world’s most prominent milliners, valued by designer brands from Kenzo to Comme des Garçons. Combining hand-crafting techniques with contemporary design, Mühlbauer is the go-to for sophisticated headwear with a statement twist.

Made by one of Japan's leading ultra-light fabric manufacturers Kajif, its nylon fabric is waterproof and semitransparent, making packing that little bit simpler. Issue 155 – double issue

Where is the best place to live? What makes a city tick? How can we improve our lot? Monocle's Quality of Life Survey has posed this question for the past 15 years and 2022's July/August issue contains the latest. How does your city fare? Plus: hot looks, sunny stays and the perfect summer playlist.

Issue 140

Monocle's get-up-and-go February issue highlights 50 ways to hit play after 12-months of pauses. We sit down with the Greek PM to talk about kickstarting a national brand, do a little disaster planning in Helsinki and highlight the businesses to benchmark from Tokyo to Toronto. Readers can also count on a raft of recommendations, recipes, makers and shaker-uppers – and even an imagined Monocle kibbutz. It's time to press on.
