As part of an ongoing project, designer Alvaro Catalán de Ocón produces handmade lampshades. Created from PET plastic bottles that are laced together by artisans into traditional basket shapes, these structures showcase various weaving techniques from different corners of the world. The project is now in its tenth year, with weavers from Ethiopia, Ghana, Chile, Thailand and Japan.
