Across Europe, medium-wave transmitters are being rapidly decommissioned and radio stations that broadcast on AM are either departing the dial entirely or moving over to higher quality FM and digital platforms. But the US is poised to buck the trend as lawmakers work to extend the lifespan of AM radio.
