European leaders gather on the anniversary of Russia’s invasion

When Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, its high command expected a swift and relatively easy conquest – and so did many of Ukraine’s allies. Three years on, Russian troops are no closer to a triumphal march through Kyiv. But the anniversary coincides with the emergence of a new threat: the wavering commitment of the US. Mykola Bielieskov, research fellow at Ukraine’s National Institute for Strategic Studies, joins Andrew Mueller to discuss what the country is envisaging for its postwar future.
