PlanetCare is a Slovenian start-up which has developed a filter to stop microfibre pollution. Doing laundry is an everyday activity but one of the big problems is the shedding of microfibres from synthetic clothing. This pollutes waterways from rivers to oceans – where they’re ingested by marine animals – presenting a threat to the human food chain as well as the ecosystem. This week, Guy De Launey meets the company’s founder, Mojca Zupan.
