The EU overcomes Hungary’s Ukraine funding objections
The EU’s 27 members finally reached a deal on future funding for Ukraine, overcoming Hungary’s objections and signing off on €50bn worth of aid for Kyiv. The aid package – two-thirds of which comes in the form of loans and one-third in grants – is intended to support the economy and pay for the country’s rebuilding, setting up Ukraine for future EU membership.
