How Gen Z is challenging the establishment in Kenya
A fortnight ago, Kenya’s president, William Ruto, fired most members of his cabinet at the height of protests against proposed tax hikes and government corruption. He promised to appoint a new, “broad-based” cabinet but many of the sacked ministers have been reappointed and demonstrations continue, with the largely youth-led movement calling for Ruto’s resignation.
