Xi’s business meeting

China’s president, Xi Jinping, has brought the country’s tech giant bosses together at an unusual meeting to urge them to “show their talent” and to have confidence in the power of the Chinese model and market. It’s being interpreted as a sign that Beijing is worried about a slow down in growth and a trade war with the US. Isabel Hilton, founder of China Dialogue and a visiting professor at King’s College London’s Lau Institute, joins Emma Nelson to discuss.

Serving up artisanal coffee, global treats and a carefully curated wine selection, it’s a welcome addition to the city’s lively café scene.
