Salon de l’Agriculture takes place in Paris

France is well known for female figureheads such as Marianne, the symbol of beauty and liberty. If you head to Salon de l’Agriculture this week, you will be greeted at the entrance by another female character who is a celebration of France’s bounty: Oupette, a six-year-old Limousin cow. She is the official muse of the fair and will be in her own stall, ready to be photographed. Monocle’s Paris bureau chief, Simon Bouvier, tells us more.
