Founders Maria Scholz and Chris Mayer discovered a shared love of confectionery after stumbling across a small candy factory on vacation and opened their own Vienna-based candy workshop in 2013. The couple employs 150-year-old techniques to hand-model and sculpt three-dimensional sweet treats containing up to 80 individual layers. This dedicated process can require up to two hours per candy, each infused with regionally sourced spices and herbs – they’re the Monocle office’s go-to treat to satisfy cravings.
