Monocle imagined the perfect cruise ship in the June 2014 issue; for further inspiration we have produced a limited run of 200 prints of the ‘Midori Empress of Sardinia’ in all its glory. Illustrated by Gaku Nakagawa.
Fatherhood is what prompted Gaku Nakagawa to become a freelance illustrator. Old Japanese paintings and pre-war advertising influence his work. He is entirely computer-based, which gives him the freedom to play with compositions until the image is just right.
