Reethaus, Lichtenberg
This thatch-covered venue located within Flussbad, a cultural complex east of the city by the Spree, hosts intimate concerts featuring everything from Carnatic music to Jim Jarmusch film soundtracks. Guests sit on the floor in the pyramid-shaped listening room while sound emanates from speakers embedded in the walls.

Neue Nationalgalerie, Tiergarten
This iconic Mies van der Rohe glass pavilion reopened in 2021 after a renovation by David Chipperfield. Since then, it has presented a steady run of blockbuster shows, with a permanent exhibition of tightly packed 20th-century masterpieces displayed downstairs.

Sprüth Magers, Mitte
With artists including Thomas Demand and Jenny Holzer in its roster, this gallery founded by Monika Sprüth and Philomene Magers now has outposts in New York, London and Los Angeles, though its biggest and best shows are reserved for Berlin.

The Feuerle Collection, Kreuzberg
Housed inside an old telecommunications bunker renovated by John Pawson, this one-of-a-kind museum is dedicated to a private collection of Chinese antique furniture, early Khmer sculptures and contemporary artworks. Visits by appointment only.

Die Tankstelle, Schöneberg
This welcoming art gallery in Schöneberg, containing two floors of exhibition space shared by Galerie Judin and Pace, was reimagined from a 1950s filling station. The space under the petrol pump canopy is now a café run by Zeit, with a prime selection of newspapers and the city’s most serene patio.
