Hotels
Château Royal, Mitte
Located just off Unter den Linden, this hotel’s interiors hark back to the belle époque and the swinging 1920s. In each of the 93 rooms hangs a unique work by an artist connected to the city. “We wanted to make sure that when guests wake up, they know that they are in Berlin,” says co-owner Moritz Estermann.

Telegraphenamt, Mitte
Most forms of long-distance communication in Berlin, from letters and telegrams to the citywide pipe-mail system, used to pass through the Haupt-Telegraphenamt. Following three decades of disuse, the building reopened in 2022 as a grand hotel with nearly 100 well-appointed rooms.
Michelberger Hotel, Friedrichshain
Tucked away in a busy corner of Friedrichshain, this design-conscious stay offers rooms at reasonable prices and is known for its delectable all-organic breakfasts. Owners Tom and Nadine Michelberger are behind restaurants Ora and Theke, as well as a farmstay outside the city.
