Hotels

Rosewood, Tsim Sha Tsui
No expense was spared on building the luxury hotel group’s Hong Kong flagship. The 413-key property (pictured above) overlooks Victoria Harbour from the Kowloon waterfront and provides an ideal perch from which to explore this rapidly developing side of the city. Tony Chi designed the interiors, including the Asaya wellness retreat which adds balance to an extensive range of award-winning restaurants and bars. Members’ club Carlyle & Co is accessible via the lobby.
The Murray, Central
The Murray is the flagship property of the Wharf Hotels’ Niccolo brand. Occupying a 1960s modernist tower in the city centre, rooms are generously sized and offer scenic views over Hong Kong Park and its botanical gardens. Foster + Partners oversaw the interior design; you can also see the firm’s HSBC headquarters from The Murray’s rooftop bar and restaurant, Popinjays.

Tuve, Causeway Bay
A popular choice for Monocle editors visiting Hong Kong since it opened in 2015, Tuve is one of a handful of design-led small hotels. Tuve’s discrete entrance in Tin Hau suits this exciting neighbourhood. The rooms are like a well-packed suitcase, providing everything that you need for a successful business trip. The hotel is within walking distance to Causeway Bay and Victoria Park.
The Upper House, Admiralty
The contemporary Asian design of this stylish hotel in Admiralty comes courtesy of Hong Kong interior architect André Fu, who also handpicked the artworks in the rooms and the common areas. Impeccable service and incredible views continue to win the hotel international plaudits. Newly installed general manager Simon McHendry starts his stewardship with the launch of the The Upper House x Monocle suite and Monocle pop-up café and shop, open for a limited time from September to November.

Monocle subscribers enjoy an exclusive offer on the Monocle Suite starting from HK$8,800 per night. To book, please email reservations@upperhouse.com and mention promo code MonocleAtTheHouse.
