Hotels

The Madrid Edition, Sol
This spacious complex near the Royal Palace boasts a LatAm-inspired restaurant, the city’s largest rooftop infinity pool and 200 rooms, including 21 suites and two penthouses. The emphatic shifts between the lighting, textures and choice of art establish a calm atmosphere. Don’t miss the in-house gift shop.

7 Islas Hotel, Malasaña
One of the few family-owned hotels in the Spanish capital, this 79-room offering was first launched by businessman Juan Rosa and taken over by his three granddaughters in 2012. Madrid-based design firm Kikekeller gave the centrally located stay a lively refit, emphasising metallic furnishings and Scandinavian simplicity. Dubbed the “7I Art Gallery”, the lobby holds a new exhibition every quarter, showcasing a variety of guest artists.

Brach Madrid, Chueca/Sol
Brach Madrid is the Evok Collection’s latest addition. Designer Philippe Starck furnished each of the 57 rooms with a cabinet of curiosities, making this hotel feel more like a stately seven-storey mansion. A well-appointed subterranean spa mixes hi-tech functionality with much-needed amenities, such as therapeutic massage treatments and a marble-lined pool.
