Our first stop today is in Võrumaa in southern Estonia, where we’ve arrived to learn more about the region’s ancient smoke-sauna ritual. Konfekt’s Petri Burtsoff is joined by the Estonian director Anna Hints, whose award-winning documentary, ‘Smoke Sauna Sisterhood’, explores the healing power of the sauna.

For many of us, there’s a certain kind of glamour and romance associated with a lengthy train ride. But nowhere is that more elevated than aboard Belmond’s historic British Pullman, the sister train to the Orient Express. And, from this year, it has a brand-new passenger experience in its arsenal: The Carriage Club, a cabaret on rails.

‘The Art & Science of Fragrance’

French powerhouse L’Oreal hosted its first event dedicated to scent earlier this month: ‘The Art & Science of Fragrance’. The festival gathered industry experts, designers and luxury consultants at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris to debate the future of the industry, which brands are leading the way and the importance of fragrance in luxury and hospitality.
