Poland’s election and the fallout from Germany
With AFD coming second in this past weekend’s federal elections, Germany is joining other European nations which are leaning to the right. One country it could learn from – and which could learn from it – is Poland. Hardline populist party Law and Justice occupied power for eight years only to lose out in the 2023’s parliamentary elections. Now, Aleks Szczerbiak, professor of politics at the University of Sussex, joins Emma Nelson to discuss a potential comeback in May.
