The weekend edition of the ‘Financial Times’ has a discerning readership who expect the same assiduous reporting and astute opinion-leading of its weekday cousin but also want to wind down perusing its ‘Life & Arts’, ‘House & Home’ and ‘FT Magazine’ sections. Editor Alec Russell tells us how he strikes this balance.

One of the advantages of producing a show about magazines from the office of a magazine is that we’re surrounded by people as excited about print as we are. And there are few more knowledgeable and enthusiastic than Monocle’s creative director Richard Spencer Powell and director of photography Matt Beaman, who joined us to run through some of their favourite titles currently on newsstands.
