Kelly Hoppen

Next year British interior designer Kelly Hoppen will celebrate the 40th anniversary of her business, which she started aged 16 with the renovation of a family friend’s kitchen. Monocle contributing editor Tom Morris sits down with Kelly in Los Angeles to find out more.

Battersea Power Station Phase 1

As part of the London Festival of Architecture, Battersea Power Station hosted an event entitled “Industrial to Post-industrial”, which examined the history of the power station as well as unveiling the first phase of development – Circus West.

Toronto changing

For the past eight years architecture practice Raw has presented Raw Canvas, an annual event celebrating a corner of the city that finds itself on the cusp of change. This year the event took place at a former warehouse, once home to a fabled nightspot, which will soon be torn down to become a new arts complex on Toronto’s waterfront.
