This weekend’s highlights include David Zwirner’s first European gallery in London, a fresh retail venue in Antwerp and the relaunch of 10am Film Festival in Tokyo’s Chiyoda-ku.

1. EXHIBITION: LONDON

— Luc Tuymans at David Zwirner Gallery

Located in the heart of Mayfair, David Zwirner’s first European gallery has just opened with an exhibition featuring works from Belgian artist Luc Tuymans. Representing the artist’s first solo show in London since his 2004 retrospective at the Tate Modern, the show comprises a series of paintings entitled ‘Allo!’ and comes just one month before Tuysmans’ ‘The Summer is Over’ show opens in Manhattan. The artist, who was seen as an important influence in the revival of painting in the 1990s, has created a unique body of works with visions drawn directly from existing photographs and video stills including some references to the 1942 film adaptation of W. Somerset Maugham’s The Moon and Sixpence.

24 Grafton Street, W1S 4EZ. Open Tuesday-Saturday, 10.00-18.00 and Monday by appointment. Until 15 November
