2. FILM AND MUSIC FESTIVAL: LONDON

—Sundance London

Well-established as the world’s foremost independent film festival, this year for the first time Sundance ventures away from its traditional Utah home and comes to London. Fourteen of the films premiered at the main festival have been selected to show in London. 3. EXHIBITION: NEW YORK

—Brancusi: The Photographs

While the Franco-Romanian artist Constantin Brancusi is best known for his sculpted works, his skill as a photographer is well-deserving of the exhibition opening this weekend at Bruce Silverstein’s gallery in Chelsea. Exhibiting over 40 original prints, the collection shows works brought together for the first time, all gathered from friends and family of the artist as well as collectors. Brancusi’s images incorporate a sense of radical lighting, shadows, and reflection as seen in other celebrated photographers like Man Ray and László Moholy-Nagy.

Bruce Silverstein Gallery, 535 West 24th Street. Open Tuesday to Saturday 10.00-18.00. Until 23 June

We have our eyes set on Matt Pugh’s signature Owl Range, recycled Grafika stationery, Donna Wilson’s colorful pillows, and the brushes from Iris Hantverk.

5. MUSIC: GLOBAL

—The Raveonettes: Into the Night EP

How many times can you say you’re heartbroken to three chords? If you’re the Raveonettes, you can make a decade-long career out of it and still look cool. The Danish duo have been refining the well-trodden Phil Spector/Velvets/Mary Chain holy trinity template over eight albums now and this latest EP continues to show the subtly different variants of each new effort. This time they’re adding an electro-tinged fuzz compared to last year’s more sparse “Raven In The Grave” album. It’s the little differences with this band. And you should treasure every one of them.
