Peace and privacy
If it is seclusion that you are after, this spot is a winner. Set amid a pastoral stretch of l’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, a Provençal town in Vaucluse, the property benefits from no facing neighbours. More than four hectares of landscaped grounds, complete with olive trees and lush vegetation native to the region, further shelter you within an unspoiled little pocket of southeast France. This is a place where you can really escape.

Room to spare
With 9,688 sq m of living space, you won’t feel boxed in here. In fact, the property comprises three separate buildings, each with its own private access. The ensemble has a total of 15 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms, as well as plenty of communal space to socialise. There are also two swimming pools with pool houses and relaxation areas. If you are the hosting type, there’s an awful lot at your disposal here. All that is left to do is gather your friends and family together for many memorable parties in the sweeping Provençal countryside.

Moving mountains
Given the location, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the surrounding countryside – in particular the Vaucluse Mountains, a range of French Prealps that includes the towering Mont Ventoux. Known by many as “The Beast of Provence,” this mountain is the highest in the region and holds a special significance to cyclists due to its starring turn in several editions of the Tour de France over the years. If you back yourself on two wheels, why not cycle out and tackle it for yourself? There are plenty of different routes to the top that vary in difficulty.

Sturdy heritage
The magnificent buildings that make up this property date back to 1700 so you know that you will be living in a home that was built to last. The stone property is resilient, durable and requires minimal exterior maintenance. On an aesthetic level, it is elegant and in keeping with the charm of the natural surroundings. Subtle interior renovations bring things into the present; tasteful wooden beams and smart stone floors update the space without sacrificing its traditional charm.

Rich region
Those who know their grapes will be aware that Vaucluse comes with a fine reputation and the region is home to a wealth of excellent vineyards. While there is more than enough wine to go around in l’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, it is better known for another reason: antiques. The town’s Le Village des Antiquaires de la Gare plays host to a charming market with up to 300 stalls every Sunday, while a larger biannual fair attracts an international clientele. When it comes to seeking out delightful decorative pieces, you will be spoilt for choice living here.
