About the role
Monocle’s creative team is a talented bunch of designers, photographers and editors with a sharp eye for beautiful design. The picture researcher is a key part of the team and is responsible for ensuring that our digital assets are visually captivating and on-brand.
Our digital assets include the Monocle website, radio programmes and our suite of daily and weekly subscriber newsletters. The picture researcher is responsible for sourcing, resizing and managing usage rights of pictures across our digital platforms. These channels have a strong focus on news and current affairs and therefore, expertise in this would be preferred.
Alongside outstanding organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to effectively multi-task, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
-Recent experience working in a newsdesk environment
-An exceptional eye for seeking out compelling imagery
-Experience using Photoshop and Bridge
-An ability to make snap creative decisions on news imagery
-The capability to manage priorities within tight deadlines
-Strong communication in all forms
Please be advised that the hours for this role are 09.30 to 18.30 from Tuesday to Saturday.
