Fashion
Ensoie

Family-run creative fashion label and concept store Ensoie – en soie is French for “made of silk” – is one of the last bastions of Zürich’s once highly lucrative silk trade. Founded in 1894 by Swiss silk trader Jakob Abraham, the brand’s matriarch Monique Meier took over in 1974. Now her three daughters, Eleonore, Sophie and Anna, are at the helm.

Fashion
Eclectic

The collection at Eclectic should feel overwhelming but founder Bettina Müller navigates her selection with the dexterity of someone who has been in the industry for four decades. At the Werdmühlestrasse shop, you’ll encounter Japanese, Korean, Italian, British and Turkish labels among local offerings. Müller has scoped out the showrooms of Uruguay, Buenos Aires and New Delhi (as well as Paris and Milan) to discover brands that are, as of yet, largely undiscovered.

Shop
Opia

Claudia Desax has a strong affinity for Asian brands and developed personal links with regional labels during her time in Bangkok. Since settling in Zürich’s Europaallee nine years ago, Desax has expanded her hand-picked range to include Barcelona-based designer Gabriela Coll, Florentine knitwear atelier Boboutic and Parisian footwear brand Adieu. “I like to bring a wildcard to my collection, to stock a brand that no one is expecting,” says Desax.
