In a curatorial daisy chain, five of Galerie Koal’s leading artists (including Monocle favourite Dennis Feddersen) have invited some of their own favourite artists and inspirations to exhibit in the Koal space. Artists on show include Rebecca Michaelis, Gregor Gleiwitz and Ruth van Beek (see above), in an interesting twist on the standard summer group show.

-John Maus 'We Must Become the Pitiless Censors of Ourselves
Since hitting the mainstream synth scene a decade ago with his collaborator Ariel Pink, Minnesotan John Maus has done wonders at making that 1980s electro sound both intensely listenable and distinctly current. He shows no sign of stopping with his third LP We Must Become, from the hook-heavy “Head for the Country” to the starry-eyed and strangely moving “Hey Moon”. ‘We Must Become the Pitiless Censors of Ourselves’ is out now on Upset the Rhythm.

-Andy Warhol's Soup Cans
This weekend marks the 49th anniversary of the debut of Andy Warhol’s “Campbell Soup Cans”, shown at the artist’s first solo show in 1962 at Los Angeles’ Ferus Gallery. To commemorate the significant occasion in the development of pop art, and pay tribute to the role the Ferus Gallery played in fostering post-war American art, an exhibition opens at MOCA this Saturday displaying 32 of Warhol’s soup cans.

-Rocket Gallery
Rocket Gallery, a well-kept secret among London’s design crowd, is opening its doors for a sale of 200 original limited edition screenprints and mid-century furniture this weekend. Graphic, expressionist prints from the 1960s, 70s and 80s by the likes of Ellsworth Kelly, Ib Geertson and Jo Niemeyer will sell from £50 to £500, while a generous 75 per cent has been knocked off original pieces by Eames, Møgensen, Wegner and Jacobsen. This Sunday morning, make your way over to North Shore Park in Miami to take part in a free yoga class, one of five outdoor locations used by the city’s Free Yoga Foundation. The not-for-profit organisation aims to make yoga available to all, and in addition to regular classes, hosts special programmes for those with physical disabilities and impaired eyesight. The team now teaches over 400 people each month.
