Mesh, Piure

Office and home design have merged in the past few years, a trend that Munich-based Piure has embraced with the launch of its new Mesh furniture system. Designed by Werner Aisslinger, Mesh features a variation of translucent perforated sheet metal and glass elements that make these shelving units versatile enough to suit any workspace.

Zones, Teknion

Zones, designed in collaboration with London-based design consultancy PearsonLloyd, incorporates a series of furniture pieces that offer a place to retreat or come together in an open-plan office. Made up of tables, seats, blackboards and beech-wood partition walls, the highly adaptable collection creates a multipurpose work environment that can accommodate everyone.

Alvar Aalto’s L-leg collection, Artek

Co-founded by Alvar Aalto in 1935, Artek has always based its collection on the Finnish architect’s designs. At its Orgatec debut, Artek showcased Aalto’s L-leg collection but with a modern twist.

For Now, +Halle

Able to lend some much-needed warmth and comfort to corporate events, Danish furniture company +Halle premiered Chris Liljenberg Halstrøm’s For Now series at Orgatec. Crafted in Denmark from regional oak, this lounge set is available in a variety of fabric and leather options.

Marble-top cantilever table, Molo

Canadian Stephanie Forsythe’s marble-top cantilever table sees light honeycomb paper juxtaposed with heavy stone. The paper table is designed for meetings and even comes with a rotating circular pad of paper to sketch and share ideas on.

Suspence, Lightyears

Part of the Republic of Fritz Hansen since 2015, Lightyears is known for its innovative lamp creations. Its newest edition is Suspence, a monochrome pendant designed by Danish studio GamFratesi. The lamp is fitted with a diffuser that lights it up without a glare.

Pacific chair, Vitra

Design duo Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby spent over two years developing this functional, timeless and ergonomic desk chair, their first for Swiss furniture giant Vitra.

A-series mötesbord, SA Möbler

Available in ash and oak, this desk made in Swedish furniture company SA Möbler’s factory in Tibro, is a playful take on the conference table. Designed by Daniel Lavonius Jarefeldt, Johanna Munck af Rosenschöld and Josef Zetterman from Tengbom, it brings together elements from the home, the workshop and the office.

Amp chandelier, Normann Copenhagen

Normann Copenhagen’s Amp chandelier takes Danish designer Simon Legald’s Amp lamp to a new level. Combining glass, marble and steel, this creation epitomises the modern idea that the workplace is a continuation of the home.

CYL, Vitra

Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have worked with Vitra since 2000. Their newest concept for the brand is the CYL wooden table system, which was originally designed for the home but has now been adapted to suit the office. Its simplicity and use of natural materials combined with its functional connector elements make this one a winner.
