We are looking for a highly motivated, efficient Barista to join us at The Monocle Café in Marylebone, London.

For this role your priority will be exceptional customer service, great coffee and an overall fantastic attention to detail.

You ideally have 1+ year working the hospitality industry, are a team-player, are punctual and reliable and open to working on weekends. An interest in print and our brand is a plus.

Responsibilities:

Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all items on the menu & drinks list, including any specials or new items

Ensure all café equipment is maintained correctly and that accurate maintenance schedules are recorded and logged

To ensure the satisfaction of all customers by ensuring that service is prompt, efficient and delivered to the highest standards

To deal with all customer enquiries in a polite and courteous manner

To assist in the planning and execution of any special functions or events

The Monocle Café now has an opening for a standards-driven, ambitious and talented Assistant Manager. The role involves the day to day running of the café business, overseeing both the kitchen team and hosting the front of house.

You will deputise for the Café Manager, and be responsible for all aspects of managing the financial and operational elements of the business in their absence.

Monocle is seeking a full-time Food Supervisor to work at the Monocle café in London.

Roles & responsibilities

  • Oversee kitchen employees engaged in serving food, and in maintaining cleanliness of food service areas and equipment;
  • Train and monitor workers performance of duties;
  • Assign and coordinates work of kitchen employees to promote efficiency of operations;
  • Supervise serving of meals eat in and take away Inspect kitchen area (utensils, equipment, storage) to ensure health and safety standards are met;
  • Keep records (inventory, sales, wastage and costs), place orders in line of efficiency and performance, and be contact person to food suppliers;
  • Create work schedules and evaluate work performance of kitchen employees Daily preparation of food and beverages together with employees;
