The role
We are seeking an experienced manager to oversee both the pre-opening set-up and the day-to-day operations of our brand new Monocle Café in Paris. We seek someone who loves hospitality, hosting and creating strong connections with our subscribers, clients, business partners, customers and staff.
The all-day café and shop will focus on exceptional coffee, a curated drinks menu and a simple, yet high-quality food offer. The space will also include our full Monocle retail offer, selling high-quality merchandise across categories from Monocle print to clothing, homeware and luggage.
In the pre-opening phase, you will be tasked with leading the hiring and training of staff, developing relationships with suppliers and implementing ordering systems, managing premises compliance, creating and costing menus and establishing operating procedures. Once we’re trading, you’ll then be responsible for the following;
-Manage daily café and retail operations, ensuring the highest standards
-Manage staff scheduling, training and performance
-Monitor and control costs, inventory and supply chain
-Drive menu innovation and seasonal event planning to bring our brand to life
-Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene regulations
-Handle financial responsibilities including payroll, budgeting, forecasting and reporting
-Develop and implement marketing initiatives to drive business growth
-Maintain and enhance customer and client relationships
Essential to your success is your proven ability to manage new premises openings, strong team leadership and an established network within Paris’s retail and hospitality sectors.
