Haiti to vote for new president
A transitional council officially took power in Haiti last Thursday following the resignation of former prime minister Ariel Henry. Today, the council’s first act is to elect a president for the duration of its mandate before attempting to restore order to the gang-ridden country. Christopher Sabatini, senior fellow for Latin America at Chatham House, explains the machinations of this emergency process.
