01 Carl Hansen & Søn, CH26 chair

The first design Hans J Wegner ever produced for Carl Hansen & Søn was the CH22 chair. At the time the Danish master created a blueprint for a similar chair that never saw the light of production; 65 years later the oak-and-walnut CH26 is finally being released. While similar to the CH22 in its lines and characteristic armrests, its proportions are adjusted to function as a dining chair (a couple of centimetres have even been added to the original sketches to adapt to today’s taller tables – and people).

02 Lightwork, 16:5 lamp

A collaboration between Swedish interior stylist Saša Antić and Istanbul-based designer Huseyin Turgut, the Eximius collection features new colours and textures for the Turkish designer’s brass lamps. Like all of Lightwork products, this 16:5 is handcrafted by Turgut and his team in his Galata studio. The items in the line are dedicated to Antić’s niece, sister, mother and father, with each model named in honour of their date of birth. This ochre number is Antić’s birthday.

03 Artek, Kiki lounge chair

Oft-overlooked Finnish modernist heavyweight Ilmari Tapiovaara designed this collection in 1960, when he put the natural curved lines of his earlier creations aside and opted for molecule-inspired geometric lines instead. The whole Kiki series – which includes this lounge chair as well as a sofa, bench, and side table – features a metal tube structure and can come upholstered in Kvadrat fabric or be customised to any specification.

04 PP Møbler, Sabre leg table

There was no shortage of Wegner design in Stockholmsmässan’s halls. This pp314 Sabre leg table was first released in 1957 and produced by Danish furniture company Andreas Tuck until 1972. Auction house aficionados will be pleased to hear that the investment piece is coming back in a limited edition of four. While the sabre-shaped legs are made of solid soap-treated oak wood, the table top is double-veneered teak. This complex structure may be challenging for craftsmen to master but it ensures sturdiness – and extra room for knees.

05 FjordFiesta, 1001 armchair

Norwegian company Fjordfiesta gave visitors an early sneak peek of this 1001 armchair. A 1960 design by Sven Ivar Dysthe, the piece will come back into production within the next few months. The updated version may have replaced the original solid rosewood and oak with walnut but it still revives the International Style that influenced its creation.

06 Anglepoise, 1227 mini lamp

This new version of Anglepoise’s celebrated 1227 lamp is scaled down to two-thirds of its original size. Smaller it may be but it still maintains the strong performance of its predecessor’s spring system, first devised by automotive engineer George Carwardine in 1932. With a maximum reach of 50cm, the playful light suits compact living spaces and office desks; it is available in white, grey or black.

07 Poiat, Lavitta chairs

Since launching in 2010, Helsinki-based design studio Poiat has been working in fields from architecture to interior design; only in 2014 has its first full furniture collection been added to the roster. The Lavitta line comprises dining tables, a bench and these simple chairs, which take after traditional Finnish outdoor furniture. In their brand-new copper-orange and grey-teal hues, they pack a colourful punch.

08 Nikari, Linea sofa

Designed by Nikari’s creative director Jenni Roininen, the minimal Linea sofa was created to accompany the brand’s lounge collection. Matching a structure available in ash or oak wood is comely upholstery made from recycled materials.

09 Hay, 30 degrees lamps

Dutch designer Johan van Hengel concentrates on subtle details to create surprising effects in his creations: seemingly straightforward and smooth, these lamps will reveal a tactile continuous woodgrain pattern at closer inspection. The natural, green or orange shades are easily interchangeable for stress-free swapping.

10 Massproductions, Tio chairs

This Swedish company’s signature Tio outdoor-furniture collection is making a splash with plenty of new colours – some inspired by nature, some by the urban landscape. A Swiss polyester coating is used to protect the chair’s galvanised-metal wire for a result that can withstand both cold and warm weather.
