Editorial internship

Monocle is seeking an intern to assist our editorial team and help with operations in our London office. Responsibilities will include general administrative duties associated with the day-to-day running of a busy office, alongside fact-checking, research and writing for our monthly print magazine, daily digital newsletters and various other products. Fluency in English is essential and other language skills are desirable, as is experience in fact-checking. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about starting their career in the media and who is also willing to take on general administrative tasks. This is a full-time, paid position for a period of three months. We hire on a rolling basis. Please send a CV and cover letter to the email indicated.

About the role

Over the course of the internship, you will have the opportunity to:

-Work closely with Monocle’s editors and creative team daily, across all of Monocle’s publications, in print and online

-Provide essential research across all of our editorial and commercial publications

-Write copy for Monocle’s various print issues and online newsletters

-Pitch story ideas to our editors

-Attend editorial meetings and witness the creation of a magazine from story generation to print

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

-A passion for media and a global perspective on the world

-The ability to support multiple assignments simultaneously

-A keen eye for detail and an organised way of working

-The ability to speak and write English proficiently; additional languages are a plus

-A bachelor’s degree in media, journalism or related work experience

-A confident, engaged and professional working manner
