About the role
The Monocle Café is an intimate and bustling space located on Marylebone’s Chiltern Street. Offering artisanal coffee and tasty treats, alongside a selection of our famed magazines and retail offerings, it’s a welcoming space, showcasing our passion for hospitality.
We are seeking an experienced assistant manager to join our small team.
The role is involved in the day-to-day running of the café business, overseeing both the kitchen team and hosting the front of house. You will deputise for the café manager and be responsible for all aspects of managing the financial and operational elements of the business in their absence.
The successful candidate will also demonstrate:
-Proven barista skills in a busy environment
-The ability to train and develop a team
-At least two years’ experience of supervising a small, cohesive team and delivering an exceptional and unique customer experience within an independent environment
-An interest in the Monocle brand, with a genuine passion for interests relevant to Monocle, especially in relation to media, fashion, design, travel and culture.
