Into the fold
Folding phones offer new possibilities for communication and photography. Here’s one of the best. Plus: nifty audio gadgets.
Find N2 Flip
Oppo
This folding phone from Oppo has an outside screen so your photo subject can decide whether they like how they look before you snap, plus a hinge designed to hide the middle crease better. You can also set it at various angles – in an L-shape for video calls, for instance. The N2 Flip is one of the best folding smartphones.

Watch Buds
Huawei
Press on the edge of this watch and the display flips up to reveal tiny capsule-shaped earbuds that are held in place magnetically. The earbuds have good audio, with strong active noise cancellation and rich sound overall. There are three sets of silicone ear tips for the best fit. While regular in-ear headphones are marked left and right, here they’re identical and are reset each time you put them back. The smartwatch is attractive too, with decent battery life and features such as heart-rate monitoring and 80 modes for measuring your sporting endeavours.

SuperConnect Stereo
Revo
Revo was founded in 2004 and has grown hugely, with a special-edition Monocle Radio as one of its many highlights. One of its most popular models, the SuperConnect, has been updated with the same design language, stereo speakers and DAB1, as well as FM tuners. If that’s not enough, the wi-fi connection can access 36,000 internet radio stations. You can also listen to streaming services and it has Bluetooth. The sound quality is exceptional: warm and rich with lots of detail, and the twin speakers ensure that the radio has a wide soundstage.
